new budget products

Just got off the phone with them, and their B Pipe is up and running. They haven't dynoed it yet, but he said that it will be CAD260 with the resonator, CAD200 without. This should be a couple of weeks before they get it into production. Their cold air intake will run around CAD150, again about 2 weeks before they will actually sell it. All these prices are shipped. Do I want the resonator or no?

I apologize if this is old news, but I thought I'd pass it on to you guys.

I'll be visiting their store on Nov.16th to personally pick up a Y-pipe. I'll ask around and maybe take some pics of products for the org.

No, I'm not going to take the Y-pipe on the plane as a carry-on item! Airport security might get the wrong idea...

I checked out their B-pipe on their website, and it looks good, when it is available I will purchase one, probably with a resonator...

It will almost be exactly like the one I've had on my car for the past 3.5 years....like Injen's CAI. It's been "somewhat" molded after my prototype.

Two questions:

1. If I'm using the stock muffler and never intend on getting an aftermarket muffler, will the Bpipe with no resonator be ok? I'd prefer one without a resonator, because currently over large speed bumps I scrape a little and its the resonator which is hitting.

2. Does budget's bpipe replace the "s-pipe" which some 4th gens have after the cat and before the bpipe? I know stillen's bpipe replaced this section, whereas courtesy's bpipe did not. You can see what I'm talking about here:

Courtesy Bpipe:
http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...y%20B-Pipe.htm

Stillen Bpipe:
http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...llenB-Pipe.htm

Answered my own #1:
"I detected no difference in noise between the Courtesy B-Pipe (with a resonator) and the Stillen B-Pipe, which does not have a resonator. The exhaust sounds deep and menacing but it is not loud from inside the cockpit and does not have the annoying drone that came with the Stillen muffler"

I saw the 260 and I forgot that was Canadian dollars... $165 with a resonator is a steal...Cattman's bpipe for 4th gens is $325 ...Budget is def the way to go

Do you have any pictures of this CAI. I looked on your home page but did not see any engine pics. I'm about to buy the INJEN but if this intake is like it and is half the price I can wait!!

Hey Boo, I actually don't have any pics handy, but both Budget's and Injen's are like mine....the piping from the TB curves by the battery, and travels down behind the radiator, where the filter sits. You should wait for Budget's, because there is no use spending double the price on something(Injen's) that will definitely show similar gains. I'll post a pic of my 3.5 year old prototype soon, and you will that people are just starting to manufacture it now.

Thanks for the pictures.

The pictures of the B-pipe on their website didn't have the O2 sensor bung and looks a little different? Do I have to ask for a similar pipe as yours (Replace S-section and add O2 sensor) or will it come just like yours?

From your other pictures I noticed it a two part design, I'm assuming they provide you with C-clamps and some hardware to join the pipes together?

I am not exactly sure how they are doing them now. I got mine installed in the spring before they actually started production. I live about 45 mins from there.

Mine was welded, but that because Budget installed it, I would assume they would provide clamps but not sure. They make it two part because of the length.

I would call and ask to make sure, they are easy to get hold of and talk to. I would also assume they will give you a choice of resonator or no resonator as well. I haven't paid too much attention to their site since I got mine all installed back in Apr or May so I really shouldn't be speaking for them.

The BOMZ cai is available right now and should be similar to injen as well, for about half the price too.

Email them, they are really good about getting back to you.

The main difference between 97-99 and 95-96 is the length. So I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem to make a slightly shorter pipe which would fit on a 95-96 maxima.

Cold Air Intake from Budget

I see that several of you mention the CAI that Budget just brought out. Has anyone bought one recently with the two-piece design? I’d like to see a picture of it installed in a 4th gen. I ordered one during their Christmas sale, took it out to the garage yesterday, and remain mystified as to how Budget expects me to install this thing. If I follow his instructions (which consist of pictures only – no illustrations) I appear to have unnecessary flanges and brackets. It almost appears to me that I’ll need to make holes to accommodate the throttle assembly, where it bolts to the intake manifold… I’m lost. If someone has a picture of this product installed, I’m thinking it’ll suddenly make more sense to me.
Thanks guys!
