ORANGE (not amber) 1156/194 bulbs?

I recently acquired some clear corner lights, and headed down to the local Pep Boys/AutoZone/Advanced Auto Parts, etc... and purchased some amber bulbs (they all had the same ones- Sylvania OEM). The problem is, they are VERY yellow, and I don't mind the turn signals but I think the sidemarkers (which are always on) look crappy. I would like to have a deep orange color similar to what I had with the white bulbs behind the stock orange housing. Does anyone know of a good ORANGE bulb I could buy? I'd really rather not have to paint the bulbs...

Thanks,

Doug

I think amber is the closest to an actual orange in that size bulb that I have seen.

LEDs may be a better bet.

To get anything really deep an LED bulb works orders of magnatudes better. I bought orange (not amber) ones off ebay for about $6.

soopermax... are they bright enough? I read a few complaints about the LEDs not being reflected back into the housing and therefore seeming too dim...

I was just outside looking at it, and if I leave the stock 194 bulbs in, they match the stock corner lights pretty well. It makes the dullness of the corner lights much more bearable, and I think it looks a lot better than having yellow sidemarkers. Since I don't really mind having yellower signals (1156 bulbs), I guess I'll leave it this way.

Thanks anyway... though I could still bear to have some more orange in my lights!

I use the APC Xenon amber bulbs in the corner...they are advertised as brighter than normal but I do not know for certain cause my corners were rewired 3 years ago...to be brighter anyway...they are lasting a long time too, I just replaced my first one.

The large single LED style is dim in the daytime, but very deep at night.

The triple or quad LED style are much brighter. I went through two pairs of 194 colored bulbs before finally switching and I like the LED style a lot more.

So did mine, but after a few months they will burn off the color coating and start looking very ugly. To make matters worse I found that they began to burn the socket.

They were on everytime I used the car though, I always drive with the fogs (fog-light reqire and hence the parking lights) on for safety. You will see in the future!

But I agree orange bulbs are out there... It's the "red" ones you won't find. They are simply pink all the time. lol.

I never said that I actually USE the 194 orange bulbs

I only use the orange 1156 bulbs in the turn signals...and they work great even after 2 years of use.
