resetting the ecu

resetting the ecu

i just changed my ignintion coils and the engine light came on.... i was thinking about resetting the ecu... is the light suppose to go away... or do i wait... or reset ecu.

rule of thumb is to always reset

had this one idiot do it for me... i knew how to do it... but he was certified he took off the cover.. by the gas pedal the black one... then he took the tape off... switched the car to on position... he turned the screw clockwise and turned the ignition on then the light started flashing he kept turning the ignition on and off and turning the screw back and forth and finally it was reset but i didnt like the way he did it.. i told him to just turn it clockwise wait 5 secs. and then turn it back where it was... he said everyone has they're own way of doin things.. so now its reset and the engine light is gone.
