ABS and fog lamps

I've got a 99 GXE without ABS, heated seats, ect. I want to install the oem fog lamps, but either 1) I can't find the harnesses or 2) they're not there. Is this something I can add myself or will i have to go to Nissan to add the harnesses. I don't want to go to my local dealer because i have a feeling that they'll want to bust my ***** about my intake. Do I have any other options?

If you can get the harnesses (i'm not sure if it's already on the car stock or not... prolly not) then you can do it yourself, definately. Look for someone selling them... i thought there was a group buy goin on w/ em, not sure but check it out. I know you'll have to cut out the rubber panels that cover up the holes where an OEM fogs would be. Other than that... i'm sure it's simple mounting.

forgot to mention that I already have the fog lamps. I'm not sure where I can get harnesses to plug into the lamps themselves. I want to avoid going to a dealer for installation as much as possible.

Are you sure you dont have the harness? I thought all Maximas came with them. I have a GXE and installed the fog myself, it was easy. the harness should be attached to your headlight wires. They're taped on, cut the tape and you could just connect them from there.

GXEs without the C&C package do not have the factory wiring.

Yes, you have the stock wiring. Everything's there. If you want, I can go take pics of the harness in my GXE. If you trace the headlight harness back, you 'll find a coiled up wire/harness. It's just underneath the headlight. That's what you need. Just thread it down to your fogs and hook them up.
You'll also need a relay, which you can purchase at radioshack for 2.99. Just hack off the lil section that sticks up (you'll see what i mean when you get it).
And finally, you need the fog light stalk (same stalk as turn signal and headlights, but with added "ring" to control fogs)

If you buy the OEM fog lamp kit, the relay is included.

I have the relay, switch, lamps and brackets. The only problem is my car is not equiped with harnesses for the fog lamps. I don't want to go to a dealer because i know they'll want to charge me some ridiculus amout for the stupid harnesses and wiring.

I remember someone here mentioned that if a Maxima is not pre-wired, it still has some pre-wire from switch location to somewhere under the hood, most likely to the fuse box. That means you only need to wire from fuse box to fog lamp location, instead of going through the firewall.

Don't remember who said that.

If you take off the plastic cover on the steering wheel, look for a connector hanging there for the fog light switch. If not there then no luck.

What is taped to the headlight wiring? I have fog lights, and there is still a connector taped to the headlight wires. Does power go to that unused connector when I have the fogs on? It is cold and rainy, so I don't wanna go out with a multi-meter to test. That, and it is also night.
