well, i remember when we had to fix our bathtub (made of fiberglass), we used epoxy resin. Try that stuff...

Just go to your home depot, lowes, orchard supplies... just any hardware store and tell them that you need something to seal up something made out of fiberglass.

Re: Re: Re: Fixing fiberglass...

Well, the thing is that the biggest expense in fixing a fiberglass bumper is the repainting. Fixing the fiberglass is easy and you can do it yourself in a few hours, but you'll still have to take it to a shop for paint. To fix a hairline crack, just go to a hardware store and buy some fiberglass resin and mat, and follow the instructions. You'll want to fiberglass on the back of the bumper and use body filler on the top side to smooth it out and fill in the remnants of the crack.

But if it's just a hairline crack, it's really not even worth it. Even if you fix it yourself, the shop is probably going to charge over $100 to repaint that area. And you're really not ending up ahead.

And who makes a urethane bumper for a Maxima? Nobody...Only Stillen makes a little lip spoiler and even that can crack. I put a 5" crack in my Stillen when I had one.

So unless he wants to look like 12950854085 other maximas, then he has to put up with fiberglass and fiberglass will crack.
