I test drove a 90 with over 100k on it and i absolutely loved the ride. Not like a max, but its a completely different level of a car. Handling is amazing for a car its size and weight, doing 100 on the freeway the steering was very responsive and i had great control of the car. Quiet as hell too. And of course, me being the ride quality type of guy i loved the quietness and softness of the ride. Can't wait ti dynamat my max...has anyone else driven ls400's?

Yup, a '92 LS400 with EVERY option imaginable. An absolutely rock solid car, one that I would very highly recommend. However, anyone that drives it makes the same comments about it not being a 'drivers car' in that the steering doesn't give good feedback. With the exception of that, damn near perfect. Got the car up to the governed top speed of 153 mph on the Sprain Brook, and it still felt solid. It may just become my primary driver when I start to mod my Max next year.

1993 LS400

I test drove this car just for kicks. WOW I was amazed. Extremely quit even at 80mph. No wind, no road, no thumps from the tires. The ride was super creamy, but never floaty or flabby. Amazing! Engine makes wonderful sounds and can really move. They made improvements on the 1995 models. I can't imagine it quiter The test car had the Nakamichi system. I didn't like it much. To mid-high range and not enough bass from the sudwoofer. But hey, most of the buyers probably don't listen to rap or stuff so its good for those classical stuff. I'd love to test drive one with the Air Suspension. The one I tested had the base one. Still has good handling for how smooth it is. First Lexus I drove and I loved it.

Yup, I drive my roommate's 91 LS400 on occasion. That car is comfortable as all hell and ridiculously reliable. Not to mention that it hauls on the highway. The variable power assist steering is a nice touch, but it goes from ultra-light in the parking lots to super stiff on the highway. A little too much variance IMO. But I like it. Maybe I'll get one when I'm old and don't care as much about how the car drives.....

Lexus ..

Pretty good drive, quiet..

Looks like an old fogey car tho. Boring looks. Reminds me of a camry. (to each his own)

Rather have a 540.

98 Lexus

I test drove a 98 this summer, handling was good for a car that size but my god the interior was tomb-like on the highway. Not a sound but that monstrous V-8. I'd have to agree w/OgreDave though my dream car is a BMW 540i sport. Roughly Maxima sized w/6-speed and that V-8 ...(as he wipes the drool from his keyboard)
