fog lights

GUYS, I BOUGHT A PAIR OF 97-99 FOG LIGHTS TO PUT ON MY 95 GXE. SINCE THE BUMPER OF MY CAR HAS NO HOLES FOR THE FOGS, I CUT THEM OUT MYSELF. I PUT IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE FOG LIGHT, EVERYTHING WAS FINE. BUT WHEN IT CAME TO PUTTING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FOG LIGHT, THERE IS A METAL PIECE THAT GETS IN THE WAY OF THE FOG. I TRIED TO BEND IT WITH A HAMMER AND A HEAVY ROCK, WELL, THAT DIDNT GO TOO WELL, THE ROCK BROKE AND MY HAND FELT LIKE IT DID. WHAT CAN I DO??? SHOULD I GO TO A REPAIR SHOP AND GET THEM TO REMOVE THE LITTLE METAL THING THAT GETS IN THE WAY? IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE HOLDING ANYTHING IMPORTANT. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

Umm you seem to be the first one to try this. If the drivers side fit well then cut off the metal thing on the pass. side, but make sure its not too important first. It is most likely a bumper cover support. If thats the case cut it. I find it hard to believe you cant just bend it though, unless its a solid piece of steel?

Please turn off your caps, save caps lock for when you wanna yell at someone.... .

i've found out what the problem was when putting in the passenger side fog-light. the metal beam that the bracket goes on to is bent back, as if somebody had wrecked the car what a deception I got a guy to straighten the beam out, he charged me $100. and now i got the fogs on and wired up, and since i rewired my corner lights, at night, it is really bright.

can you get up some pics of the 97-99 Fogs on a 95/96 car? I'm curios to see it.

Thanks,
Tony

Yeah definitely post a pic.... I'd be interested to see this. Also, did you get the Nissan factor 97-99 foglight kit? I'm just curious if the staulk fits 95-96 and if the mounting hardware is useable.

look at my homepage for pics

i just put my homepage up so it only has pictures, no writing. it is a 97-99 factory kit but unfortunately, the stalk does not fit. I wired them up with a fog-light wiring kit from PILOT to a separate switch in the car.
