Coil Packs
Coil Packs
Got a quick question. Where can I find a coil pack for sale online and about how much do they run? Also, is there anyway I could find out which coil is bad?? My extended warranty would not cover it. OR should I (if it's cheaper) get a MSD ignition? All help is welcome. Thanks ahead of time.

I bought mine from the dealer. It was something like $68/ea. It is kind of high, but you don't need to replace but the one that's messed up. You can find them on ebay, but there the seller only sells them 6 at a time. I would check courtesy if you are determined to order one. Really you should track down the faulty one and replace it by itself. What makes you think that you have a bad one in the first place?
I did a manual test on it and got a 0201. Then one day I took to the dealership and they tracked it down to that. BUT, he messed with one of the wires and reset the CE light and it went away. Couple days later it the CE light pops back on and now here I am. The car gets jerky like it's missing sometimes.Yeah, the dealership qouted me "76 on one side and 86 on the other" Call me clueless but I thought they were all the same. I could be wrong.

I had the same problem and had the faulty coil replaced at the dealership for about $80. Then months later it started all over again, so I replaced all of the other coils. The same problem happened again even with all the coils replaced, I replaced the original problem coil, and It's run perfect now. I probably didn't need to replace all 6, but I didn't test the individula coils. I heard that you can take a multimeter, and test the top of the coils without even taking them out and they should read right around 1 ohm each. If they are under 1 ohm, it's probably faulty. I tracked down used coils on the internet and in junkyards for about $50 a piece. All of my coils are previously used, and the car has been running top-notch for about a year now.
