Fuel Odor

Lately, after I have driven my Max, I smell fuel by the front wheels. I had it checked for any fuel leaks, but there are none. Anybody know what could cause the problem? Fuel injectors? Fuel filter? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is it only when it has been running or can you smell it all the time? Just trying to see if this can eliminate any areas.

Possibly the vapor canister or even a faulty gas cap.......

I have the same problem...The odor is not strong and not consistent. And although it seemed that there weren't any leaks, I did find one on the output end (lower end) of the fuel filter. The leak was ever so subtle...not enough to cause a drip or get anything noticeably wet. Rubbed my finger on the underside of the filter and there is was. Had tightened the clamp with no success. Will be changing the fuel lines and filter soon.

Yeah, it happens only when I run the car, so last weekend I opened up the hood and looked for the leak (wet spots in the engine compartment). Indeed, it turned out to be the fuel filter. The bottom hose was not connected properly, so I took a screw driver to it and fixed it. Thanks for all the help guys.

Those hoses can be a pain to get off and sometimes look like they are on a lot when there is still some left to go. Glad it was just in the engine, some people had it run into the car and have the smell stay in the carpet for weeks.
