Timing problem...Hmmm
Timing problem...Hmmm
There is a posibility that my timing chain skipped. I have had a mysterious starting problem for about a month. No codes on my ECU and starter is brand spankin new. But...one morning I went out to start my hooker and I heard a loud pop as it was turning over. It almost sounded like a backfire, or in my assumed case, a misfire on one of my fuel soaked plugs. Has anyone dealt with a situation similar to mine? If so, please explain my options and how you made out. Any helpful opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
Skipped chain IS my problem bro cuz I fixed it and I drove it today without any problems startin. My plugs were firing into empty cylinders! Thanks anyways. I fixed the sensors then reset the ECU. I may have not made that clear before I'm sorry for any confusion. Please still like me! haha
You talk about the fix as if it was as easy as an oil change. You just removed the timing cover, grabbed the chain and pulled?

141k on my VQ....yea i thought the same thing about the life of the chain but it felt and looked loose after i removed the cover..i also noticed workn away parts between the links (shiny spots) I hope nobody else has to deal with this problem cuz to be honest, I would rather shove my head up a dog's a$$ than to troubleshoot a problem like this again. It took me forever to figure out this puzzle cuz the timing system did not emit any ECU codes other than my cam sensor and both crank sensors, which were all replaced and my car still didn't start.
