gas milage after Alternator recall

I had my alternator replaced under the recall last friday. I've gone through 1/3 tank and getting horrible milage. Anybody else experiencing a drop in milage after replacing the alternator? Thanx!

This may have something to do with the fact that they disconnected your battery, and thus reset the computer. It is still "re-learning," thus your motor is not running at optimum efficiency.

unplugging for 1hr doesn't do it. FSM says 24 hr. If in fact it's the ECU that's reset, I'll give it 2weeks to calibrate.
Anybody else experiencing funky milage?

Yes, please let me know if this is common. I am going to get mine replaced, via recall, next week and if this will be the result I may just live with what I have.

I might visit the dealership to look @ the instructions...maybe it says to reset the ecu...cuz I know when you get the 30k service, they will reset the ecu (dunno what's the purpose, but ok!)

i think it's for select 97-98. Call your local service dept and give them your VIN #. They'll run a check and tell u.
