exhaust opinions
Here is what I plan on doing unless someone can tell me a good reason not to. budget Mandrel bent stainless Y, Hi flow cat,(brand yet to be determined) budget stainless B with resonator, and factory muffler. What kind of gains can I expect from this setup and is there anything wrong with what I want to do. I want factory quiet (at least as close as I can get) but I do want HP gains to make it worth spending the money.
Would love some feedback, I've read MANY threads on this subject, and think that this should give me what I want, maybe 20HP and quiet?
Thanks

That should work fine.
I have the exact same setup except in Warpspeed version.
It's definitely good to feel that KICK in power once you've got it installed. My guess is between 10-20hp.
It is a little louder than stock. Mainly at low rpms under 2k. A slight rumble. Haven't had any complaints from the neighbors so far and I get home late at night sometimes.

Well,
From what I hear adding a loud or more free flowing muffler only gains about 1HP over stock. If that is true it's not worth the noise, as I understand it, the main gains come from the Y pipe and B pipe. Even the hi-flow cat dosen't add too much. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes, from what I've read in the past few months here, changing things from the Cat on back doesn't give much more than 1-5hp depending on what you use. Doesn't seem worth it for the added noise the aftermarket mufflers add.
Especially if you're just a normal driver like me who needs a little extra to just get around people on the highway.
Only reason I changed my Cat and B pipe was because I had to. The original ones were pretty rusty.
Current Setup: WSP Y, WSP metalic substrate cat, WSP B w/ Resonator, & Stock muffler.

But,
You could definitely feel the HP gains by "the seat of your pants dyno" right? I have a decent cone filter and a polished aluminum intake. That plus the exhaust work is all the modding I plan on doing. Does anybody have any dyno results from a setup like that? Really just freeing up the intake and exhaust. I wonder what that actually puts to the ground as compared to stock.
