to shave or not to shave

i'll be getting my red/clears in preety soon.. i'm debating wether or not to shave my a$$.. i was thinking to shave the burger off and leave the titanium MAXIMA emblem on.. i mean, some shave jobs look good but some don't..95/96 look good shaved
....or shave it all and place a 5th gen maxima emblem on... but that may look ghetto..

however i may take it off later on.

get rid of that burger for sure, leave the maxima on. see if you like that, if not, take it all off and have a bare a$$.

Shave the hamburger and the "Maxima"... and the keyhole, and the antenna, and the door handles, and the body molding.

sure. do what he says. shave the keyhole and antenna along with the emblems. then, you can just take out the inner trunk lid tails and look like an accord. and ull waste money in the process

i had the hamburger only look, the complete shaved look, then nothing but a jdm wing emblem, and now i have the wing with maxima emblem.
its like this short and simple- if you have it shaved, you might like it better with emblems later on. and vice versa.
i hope you find the look you want to end up with, goodluck

theres my opinion and history but is it just me or are these threads too frequent

i had a whole lot of photochops about a month ago on my car...w/red/clears, altezzas....i varied from removing nissan, removing nissan and maxima, removing nissan, maxima, and the keyhole, removing just maxima, removing just the keyhole, removing just nissan and the keyhole (looked the best), and removing everything (2nd best)

except i was cleaning up my webspace, and i deleted em all, and i recently reformatted, so they are gona forever ...however, i recently found my usb connector for my digi cam, so i will have them up again soon enuff...if you can wait a day or 2, ill give you all sorts of visual aids

most people take off the nissan logo for some reason, but i honestly think just shaving maxima off and leaving the logo looks the best, looks very sporty with just a little round logo on the top, ill take some pics sometime.

i agree with everyone with taking off the nissan emblem and leave the maxima on. i plan on painting my car so i would shave it all off when i get my 97+ trunk. i think the 95-96 trunk looks fugly especially when its completely shaved... but everyone has their own taste. body side moldings shaved would be nice too. just my opinion

I messed around with photoshop myself and I agree, removing the burger and keyhole looks the best to me and is probably what I am going to do. I might also paint the MAXIMA logo black also but it could be a pain to put back on. I wouldn't shave my keyhole but I have heard painting it body color looks almost as good. I was going to start a 'Show me your A$$' thread to try to crate a gallery of different ways to do the back of a 4th Gen but I wanted to wait until I got my most recent pics uploaded.

great job on the chop man!!
i think keep the maxima, shave the burger and the key hole is the best..i'll use a sharpie and black out the chrome key hole and see how it looks. later on in the spring i'll see if i have the body guy patch it up

.... hmmm.. what about touch up paint on the key hole??

IMO...

'95-'96 - Shave off the Nissan hamburger.
'97-'99 - Shave it all off.

Both look better without the keyhole, but that is expensive and dangerous (if your electronic latch stops working, which HAS happened before to somebody with a shaved keyhole).

Personally I think it looks a little to empty back there completely shaved.

Doesn't the SE-L come with slightly darker emblem? I think this might look good on my dark Max instead of trying to paint the stock one.

Is it worth trying to put an old emblem on the car or are you better off buying one with the tape on the back already? Any suggestions on putting tape on an old emblem?
