installed mid pipe, still having problems with cold weather starts
installed mid pipe, still having problems with cold weather starts
earlier this year, i installed a cone intake and removed the piping in between to make a even more ghetto mid pipe. i plugged off the two hoses (i believe the IAC and the smaller hose) as a temp thing. now i finally got around to making the midpipe sponsered by LOWE's. now i'm still having trouble starting the car when it's cold. it'll turn over and then die. so i have to start it and give it a little gas so it can idle for a few seconds and then its good to go. this sucks since i have a remote starter. any ideas??? on a positive note, it idles way better than it did before.
Re: installed mid pipe, still having problems with cold weather starts
make sure your fuel filter is not old
clean your throttle body
check your ECTS (per Haynes manual testing)
test your battery and inspect cables
for me, had cold start problem for 2 winters. Having cleaned the throttle body, it now starts up without any throttle pedal depression and starts up fast.
