Removal of Side Guards on Doors

Has anyonr ever done this? Are they glued on or fastened? Will it look good if done? Does anyone have pics? Please help if you are able. It would be greatly appreciated.

there will be holes you have to fill in and also paint

with soccer moms at the mall you might want the door guards.. you dont want to look like a honda accord with the dings on the doors..... it has saved me in the past
