Replaced Hyperwhite 9004 Headlights lose contact, go off sometimes!??? whats wrong??
I replaced my headlights with 9004 from Hyperwhite, i tried 2 sets of bulbs, and sometimes 1 of the headlights is out, i have to open the hood, and either push in the holder for the bulb, or fiddle around with wires for it to go back on! its annoying, i dont know whats wrong, it happens with both bulbs, any suggestions?? is it cause the replacements are slightly bigger or what??

This happened to me a few weeks ago. The head light would kick in and out randomly....I looked at the headlight harness (the plug that holds the 9004 bulb) and the plastic was bruned....so the connection was shorting when it wiggled around. I went to napa and got a new 9004 headlight harness (plug)...it was like $8 and i just cut the old one out and soldered the new one in (make sure you connect the right wires to eachother..it's easy) You can also get a 9004 plug from pep boys or RS straus and they are like $4

Ok...well lets say you are changing the bulb....you unhitch it and pull it out from the light housing, but the bulb is still on a wire...so u have to pull it off the wire...so you pull the bulb off, just like your putting in a new 9004 bulb. Now the bulb is off and you see the 3 holes/slots where you would stick in a new bulb...those holes/slots are the plug. They make it so you can attach the bulb to the wire by just pushing it in or pulling it out. The plug is always attached to the wire (unless you cut it) The bulb just sticks in or pulls out of the plug.
