Will Straight Pipe Damage O2 Sensor?

I just got the straight pipe from the Custommaxima GD and am now having 2nd thoughts. The 2nd o2 sensor in my car is right behind the cat converter which will be replaced by the straight pipe. Will this screw up the readings of the sensor or trip the check engine light? Do you think the sensor may become damaged since it is exposed to the elements that would've been absorbed by the cat's guts?

Will be OK

No guarantees though because it is random for a racepipe to cause a CEL. On 95/96's the O2 sensor is in the actual convertor, so its in the racepipe.

Take it out and wipe it off with a dry towel because when they get clogged they throw a CEL.

No CEL here, but the horrible sound that thing makes made be go back to the cat. Saving that thing for the future........boost hopefully.

On the 97, you have three O2 sensors. Two are located on the exhaust pipes immediately before the Y section of the Y-pipe. The other, called the "rear O2 sensor" is aft of the cat. This sensor is for diagnostic purposes only, and does not affect engine management. However, a faulty exhaust reading will trigger this rear O2 sensor to trip the CEL. Without a cat your exhaust will contain more unburned hydrocarbons than normal, and this will definitely throw off the rear O2 sensor readings, most likely tripping the CEL to turn on.

Thanks guys. I feel a little better now. Oh, yea, I forgot there were 2 02 sensors b4 the main cat.
Well, all that's left for me to do is find a warm garage to install it in. We'll see what happens
