Why so much talk about "stock maximas can't do this"? I don't think this issue was about what stock maximas can do. We have modified our cars, have more power, and better performance.
What's the big deal?

It stayed at 137 for about 2 minutes with no more gains whatsoever. There's no way in hell that a stock auto with no mods whatsoever could break much over 140 unless hell froze over. 150 would mean your gauges are just plain broken or inaccurate.

Coming from Mass going into Vermont on I-91 towards where it goes into New Hampshire is FRIGGING GREAT. No traffic, few cops and a couple of huge straights with big guardrails on either side with no exits. Woohooooo.
My car (98SE 5spd w/ H&R's & AGX's) can hit well over 140(a good HUGE downhill). But it doesn't feel real planted to me like a vette. Sorta like it's not meant to run there for long. But be real careful and make sure you're not having to pass anyone at that kind of speed. Check your tire pressures beforehand.

You're going downhill. That's why you don't feel planted . . . .
Anyways, going downhill on a top speed run doesn't count
I've hit 140+ on flats, and the car could have stayed there all day if it wasn't for the curves.
