E-Brake boot Q. . .

Is it possible to replace the E-Brake boot? Mine is getting pretty bad and should probably be replaced. Is it easy to do? It looks like I would have to take apart most of the center console to do it. . . Would it be more trouble than it is worth?

E-brake boot
Yes, you would have to take apart half of the center console. The brake boot will slide out of it's position once the center console is out. It's not hard at all to do and you will be able to take apart you center console later in the future for further upgrades.

Does your mom/wife/family friend sew?
When you take it out. Go to a fabric shop and pick up some black leather. This should only cost a few bucks to make. You've got the template already. Or you could take it to a reupholstery place and I bet they'd charge $20 or so to make one for ya.

You don't have to take apart consol. THe boot is sewn onto a rectangular shaped metal hoop. It is "clipped" onto the under side of the consol. Just push down gently at the edge and you'll see. Continue all the way around until the whole thing is loose, then pull out through hole.
I recently had my interior reupholstered. The shop sewn a new shift boot and e brake boot out of leather to match my seats. Or like sage said, sew a new one yourself if you got the "home-ec" skillz.
