O/D light blinks....

Ok, before everyone starts flaming me, i did do a search on this problem....but nothing i found could completely answer my question.

About a week ago, i started up my max and the OD light blinked like 5 or 6 times. It usually comes on with all the other lights on the console(airbag, belts....) and stays on for 2 seconds and shuts off. But it started blinking. So i turned the car off, and restrated it with no problem, no blinking or anything.

After this happened, i searched the org, and found out about the A/T ECU, and how the OD light can be used to relay codes the same way the CEL can. I didn't think much of it until last night, when it happened again. I tried to count the number of flashes, but since i wasn't expecting it, i think i missed a flash or two. But, i restarted the car, and there was no problem with it. It hasn't done it since. My questionis, what the procedure to get the the codes from the A/T ECU for a 99 SE-L. I've only found the procedure for a 95-97. And the only things that have been done to my car recently i change the oil about two weeks ago, and i did the wiper switch mod last night, before it happened again. I don't see how either of these could affect the tranny. Any help or info is appreciated.

In my owners manual it says something about how if the transmission senses a problem it will put itself into some kind of failsafe mode and then the next time you start the car it will blink to tell you that that had happened.
This happend to me once a couple years ago i was driving on the freeway, floored it to go around some cars and the car just stayed there in like 3rd gear all the way home. I was scared i had blown my tranny, but i got home, restareted the care, OD light blinked and havent had a problem since.

I get the same thing after coming off the Dyno. I think the car knows the front wheels are spinning on the Dyno, and the rear isn't.

Also, I've seen people with Autos and ABS on the Dyno, and they always get this PLUS the AbS light comes on. if you drive it for am ile, turn it off, then back on, it's fine again.

Yes, when it blinks or flashes, it means something has gone wrong with the transmission. Upon next start up, it will sometimes reset itself. But more than likely, it is a "ghost" code (as well as the knock sensor) in the ECU. I would check the ECU and reset this as well. As far as the transmission, I would also extract the code from the tranny ECU to see what exactly went wrong with the transmission. This procedure can be done as explained in the Hayne's manual on pages 7B-2 and 7B-3 if you have access to one.
