Better Rear View Mirror

Does the XLE have a better rear view mirror than the SE?

I have a '99 SE and the mirror just looks CHEAP. I would like to get one with thermo, compas, lights, etc. if Nissan makes one that will swap.

Apologies if this is a common topic, I couldn't find any references.

You can get one like that from the dealership for like $300.

Is it the XLE mirror? Anyone got any pics that might show it? Would I need anything other than the mirror to make it work?

screw the rear view mirrors and get ureself a broadway rear-view mirror add on... it just clips right on top of the old one. YOu'LL LOVE IT. I know you won't have a compas and all those gizmos, but trust me, it's your best alternative aside from spending 300 bucsk for the one u want. Very very practical too.

Why do you guys need such large rear view mirrors? I think the oe one is just fine. Then again, I NEVER EVER make a lane change or turn, especially right turns, without checking my blind spot. I always believe in seeing for my own eyes (i.e. not in a mirror) before I make a move.

Sorry guys, GLE...

The biggest reason I am interested is because the one I have looks like it came from a yugo.

I do check my blindspots all the time when making a turn... the broadway mirror is so nice, u have a full view of the ppl in the back too... blah just get one, drive it for a week, then take it off and see if want it or not.

So true. I always check visually before turns and lane changes but it's amazing how much more you see with the wide rears. When you go back to stock size, it seems like you're looking through a tube.

Another supporter for wider rearview mirrors. Once you start, you can't stop. When I got my first one, I kept moving it back and forth between cars for 2 weeks until the second one came.

It's like a drug

Broadway is the way to go

I have the broadway 300mm rear view mirror. It's pretty wide. I am thinking of getting the 360mm ones.

Do these Broadway mirrors make things appear smaller?

in my opinion, screw the broadway mirror...unless you want your car lookin' like a granny car. (sorry guys)

to get a better mirror you could get one off a wrecked infiniti i30. it's auto-dimming, but no compass. it definetly looks a lot better though.

Flat or convex

If you get the flat broadway mirrors the image will appear the same size. If you get the convex broadways...you will be able to see more but smaller image. I don't recommend the convex. The objects may be too small

Thanks for the advice. Think I may try a flat broadway.
