Really BAD Wheel Hop !!!

Yes I did the Home made Poly mounts
Yes I have AGX's and Sprints

But the thing is I did 3 of the mounts..Front engine, Rear Engine, and Trans mount, brand new, filled with Poly and Im getting such bad wheel hop now its not even funny..I thaught hop was only associated with front and back mounts??...I can be cruizing in 1st and punch it and all I get is hop through 1st then I shift to second and get hop through second. and its soo violent that it shakes the car bad....its worse now with the mounts ?? I dont get it...I have such bad luck with this car

The only thing I can think of is that the 3 poly mounts are puttin extra strain on that 1 other engine mount and its causing hop
or that now with the LSD, more power is getting to wheels, and thats causeing bad hop ?? Its really bad

Matt, unfortunately the suspension in our cars isn't the best. There are no lateral bars holding the wheel steady. All that holds the wheel from moving around is the lower control arm. Thats only ONE support location. The strut really doesn't support or hold the wheel/hub from moving side to side or forwards and backwards.

If your control arm bushings are starting to get worn out, you'll have more play in the wheel giving you even more hop. I'd suggest replacing the bushings on your lower control arms to help you out at this point. I believe you can get bushings from Energy Suspension for the control arms. This is going to increase the harshness when you impact bumps. The firmer the bushings, the more thats transmitted into the frame and body of your car. You WILL feel the bumps.

I cant even use my first gear anymore when Im racing cause all I get in 1st is hop and bad hop

Current setup:
Sprint/AGX
3 out of 4 motor mounts are poly'ed...the one thats not is the right engine mount..could be a little factor of the hop
LSD tranny..both wheels are hopping so this may be another factor

I started getting the really bad hop after the LSD went in and the mounts were put in...I thaugt the mounts were put in to help the hop...it made it worse..

Now another thing are the tires..I have Dunlop tires on there that may be causing this, maybe not the hole cause but a little part of it.

I want this hop gone, like i said I cant even use 1st when Im racing

My old CRX had TERRIBLE wheel hop...of course I had to launch at 4500 at the drag strip to lay down good times, but all through first and second it would shudder like a m/f. The solution for the 'rex was poly suspension bushings...the car had 150,000 miles on it and the stock rubber busings were DUN. With the poly motor mount inserts and the poly suspension busings, it was like a new car...I would bet at least a dime that your front suspension bushings are giving you hell. Get an energy suspension poly kit and do the whole front end...I have no doubt that the addition of the limited slip merely exaggerated an already present problem.

I put in the front sway bar and endlink bushings, but I don't feel that they help with wheel hop at all. Putting in polyurethane engine mounts helped my car considerably with wheel hop, so I bet your problem is mostly the LSD.

I would go ahead and do the control arm bushings (and the 4th engine mount) if I were you.
