Just thought I would let everyone know that I finally got to drive a supercharged maxima in atlanta this weekend. My friend was driving his 96 gt rustang. I raced him the only problem with the max was I had trouble keeping good traction the max still had the stock 95 se wheels and h rated tires on it. His 17 and z rated tires had not come in, the car caught third gear easily. In anycase we beat the rustang by one and a half car lengths another ford bites the dust.

 

Does your friend have anything done to his 96 GT? If it was stock, it seems like you should have beat him by more than that, unless your traction problem was a serious issue. Just curious.......

 

I'm pretty sure he has no mods to the mustang. Your right my main problem was traction. It was the first time I had drove a supercharged max so I was realizing what power it really had. He actually beat me by one car length off the line because I was spining the tires. Supercharged cars and cheap 15" wheels dont mix very well. But we caught back up with him and by the next red light we were ahead. Hope that answers your question

 

Good kill, but if you get a chance when your friende new wheels come in, race him again and keep us posted.

 

I killed one without even trying 96 Rustang GT 5sp. I blew him off the line(95 Max, auto, stock). and walked him 3 car lengths tell I had to turn a corner, I flashed my hazards and turned.
