Stillen Intake Q's

I just installed my stillen high flow intake. actually i just got back from jackrabbiting around town (thank god i didnt see any cops) and i had a few questions for people who have this kind of intake.

When hooking up the A.A.T.S (ambient air temp sensor) the instructions said you were supposed to "trim back the wire loom protector for the A.A.T.S" in order to make the wire long enough to hook up to the new filter. i tried doing this, but couldnt free up nearly enough wire in order to make it long enought to hook into the new filter. I ended up having to cut the wire and add some speaker wire to the senser in order to make it long enough to fit. has anyone else had this problem? is what i did ok? i dont have any check engine light and it seemed to run fine.

ok, i had read that it is a good thing to reset the ecu computer on the car after you put a mod in. should i do this now that i have installed the intake? will it make it run better if i reset the ecu?

On reseting the ecu, i look at the ecu page here on this site, but the picture of the computer on that page looks diff that my max. i have a 99 and was wondering if maybe they changed it in the later models. where the screw is on the picture of the ecu on this site, my car has a similar ecu, but it says "idle speed" or something like that. and it doesnt look like there is a screw in the little hole. it looks more like a sprocket or something. i couldt get a good look at what was in that little hole, its so hard to access. i was afraid to mess anything up or change the idle speed, so i didnt touch it. does anyone know what im talking about?

other than that i really like the intake, its my first mod and i think i might be addicted.

To reset the ECU you can ALSO unplug the battery for several hours. Same effect as resetting computer under dash.

You didn't cut enough loom. I thought at first that it wouldn't be long enough, but I just kept cutting and it worked out. I just used electrical tape over the cut loom and it looks good as new now.
