I shaved for the first time....lol....

I shaved the 'Nissan' emblem off the back today. Took me less than 20min. It was much easier than I thought. When I install my read/clear tails, which I ordered today, I'll put up some pics.

Do you guys think I should shave the 'M A X I M A' off too?? I'm not so sure I should because if I don't like it, it's going to be hard to put each letter back on where it originally was. Plus when time comes to sell the car(not any time soon), I don't think anyone would want to buy it that way. Let me know what you think I should do. Thanks

Nice color Max. The red/clear will look very good on it. Anyways my vote is either leave the M A X I M A or be prepared to shave it all including the keyhole. Only the keyhole on the trunk looks stupid IMO.

I'm buying the red/clears used off someone from the org. I got very very lucky and could NOT resist the offer.

I think you're right, if I shave the MAXIMA off then the keyhole is gonna look kinda stupid all alone back there and shaving that off won't be too easy. Won't it leave a hole in the trunk?, I'm just wondering.

You have to get a shop to weld over it and repaint the whole lid. Should run about $300 all said and done.

the 95-96 doesnt actually look too bad all shaven because of the line that goes thru the trunk...it adds a little somethin....the 97-99 look very plain without anything back there....and plus, if you have a semi dark color car, you can line up the emblems with the discoloring that is left behind after you take them off

Shave it all - even with the key hole it still looks good. What color is your max? Mine is white and I love it with no emblems!

Mine is a darkish red. Checkout my webpage for the color. I have to update my site real bad. My car looks real different now with the rims and lights and all. I'm not so crazy about the color though, it's kinda ugly.

If you don't have enough money to shave the keyhole right now, this is what I suggest (I did this too)....

Shave the Burger

Leave "M A X I M A" on

Rough up the key hole with some sandpaper or a dremel, make sure you can see the scratches you are putting in it.

Take some touch up paint and paint the keyhole. Let dry and apply another layer. I will look nice afterwards, can't notice from far away.

I have a 96 and shaved the rear end. I tlooks much better and I get compliments on how clean it looks. I'm not worried about selling it like that because it looks better.
