Head light bulbs...

Guys,
I am having a 97 MAX GLE. My head light is duller than usual. So I was planning to get some of the new brighter lights. I came across PIAA XTREME White Plus and PIAA Platinum Super White. They cost less than 70 bucks for twin pack. However I also came across LAZERBLUE (http://www.federal-mogul.com/wagner/...lazerblue.html) from Wagner Lightings. It costs 8 bucks. Do you guys have any idea if LAZERBLUE is as bright as above mentioned PIAA stuff? Im sure there will be difference but just wanted to get more insight into which gas is used in the bulbs. Which one you guys are using for brighter head light?

Thanks!!

I'm not sure but I think the PIAA lights are brighter. I have Xenon Euro White lights on my max. $40 for a pair and they are really bright, well, compared to the s**ty stock ones.

I have been through PIAA and won't use them. Sylvania XTravisions are what I'm running now in 9004 config. I think they are superior, the moment I put them in, I was able to cast light further.

I don't think that PIAA are brighter is just better quality bul sure it will last longer. I bought some from ebay that are 5000K. They are really bright and they look awesome. here is the site if you wanna check it out globalpremier.com they seem more on their site. but if you go to ebay u may gett them cheaper. I have had thos for about 2 weeks and I am still happy hope they last a long time!

I agree with packetattack, I've had PIAA's, not worth the $$. For 15 bucks pick up the Xtravisions. They definately light up more of the road.

What about the color on these? Is it white, yellowish, blue? I have the PIAA Xtreme whites and they look good, but don't match the H3 Xtreme white, the headlights look yellowish still. The light output seems fine though.

What about energy consumption? Does PIAA or HID consumes awfully more than the OEMs?

has anyone switched to HID and had problems?

HIDS take less wattage, 35 watts versus traditional filament based lighting; 55 watts. The startup voltage is high, but thats done via a transformer, but the sustained run wattage is lower.

And why would PIAAs take more wattage? PIAA advertising is all a farce anyways, see link:
