Question About LED Specs on a 98
Question About LED Specs on a 98
I have a 98 and I want to change the LEDs in the doors but I need to know the specs on those LEDs (the MCD value, voltage) I called my local Nissan dealership and asked the parts guys and they were no help. If any of you w/a 98 or 99 have done this mod then please help. Thanks for your time and help...
ok all you really need to worry about is getting 3mm LED's. i got mine from www.eled.com and i used blue and white. the higher the mcd's value the brighter it is. you also do not need any kind of resistor in there as well, since it already has led's. just be careful when you are unsoldering the old ones, take your time.
very simple, just pry them up carefully w/ a screwdriver or something. then disconnect the harness.
when u take apart the switch itself make sure u know how everything is orientated. also dont loose any of those little rubber things, youll see them when u do it.

just take a flat head screw driver and put a cloth over the end and then pry the control piece off CAREFULLY. work it around and the piece should come out fairly easy...just be gently so you don't crack anything...

well u need a soldering iron (which can be bought at radio shack), and some solder. basically all u do is use the iron to heat up where the two contact points of the led are, then pull it out. you may have to do one side at a time. youll see the solder start to melt. then just do the exact oposite to put a new one in, heat it up and slide it in.

you will need a total of 9. however if u have a 97-99 the led's in the back are different. u can get them at radio shack, however there they cost like 3-4 a piece, where as on www.eled.com they cost 1.03 a piece
choice is yours though
