Sun Roof water leak help.

I just recently found out the my sun roof is leaking water.
I really think its the rubber part arround the sun roof glass
but nissan does not sell just the rubber.
They want to sell me the sun roof it self for $445
and installation for $280.

This there away arround this journey?

Thanks

Water will leak through the roof. It's not made to be a perfect seal. There is a gutter that goes around the inside of your sunroof. Open it and look down into it. There are 4 drain hoses from that gutter, one in each corner. Make sure the gutter is clean and the drain hoses are not blocked. You can use compressed air to blow them out if there blocked. Once there cleaned out and draining properly, water will no longer come into your car.

The only way to see what's the problem is to take it apart and look. Save your money and just buy the parts you need. I rebuilt my cousins sunroof and it costed him $43 and a few hours of work. Tell the dealership to kiss your ****.

I had an '88 Alfa Romeo Milano that had a leaky sunroof. It turned out to be leaves clogged in the drains.

no biggee. They don't do much for protecting your roof from leakage. Your sunroof has a whole drainage system like njmax said. Water is supposed to leak into your car with a sunroof, it just needs to drain out the sides of the car instead of into your interior.

I actually took the sunroof deflector off of my altima because I thought it looked better. I no longer have the car anymore and it's sitting in my closet.
