car seems really week...what could be wrong?

Ok as a continuation to this thread http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=174450 I'm really wondering if something is wrong. Normally in fourth or fifth gear I could give it half throttle of more and it would go...if I do that now its like the car is struggling, but the rpms arent rising and the speed not. Neither one is moving up he rpms go up ever so little and then the speed. I cant catch second gear anymore and its not like the clutch it super slipping or anything just seems like th engine doesnt have the power (used this as a refrence point since it used to do it). But in either case if I do a spirited run I can get out and still smell a stinky clutch. I recently within the past two months replaced the fuel filter, plugs, and oil. I have frankencar intake and thats it for performance. I'm a good shade tree mechanic, but I just cant think of what else it could be I have no engine codes. Could perhaps this autozone fuel filter be clogging up? Thanks for all the ideas.

Edit* I have a 99 sel 5spd.

No KS code?? Try putting your stock intake back in. It may be the loss in low end your feeling do to the cone intake. I know 2 guys that switched back to stock intakes because of a lack in power in the normal driving range after a cone intake was installed. Some cars just don't do so well with them under normal driving conditions.

Thats an idea but I've had this intake for three months, and havent had this problem. And yeah I have no engine codes, well at least its not lit up. Can I still be throwing codes and no light?

Yes. A bad knock sensor will throw a code (0304) but won't light up the CEL, and will result in a noticeable drop in low end power. This should be the first thing you check.
