Need someone to "Re-grease" starter
This is in regard to my starter grinding noise symptoms as mentioned in this thread http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=14278
Someone suggested to disessemble the starer, clean it, lubricate it and re-install as opposed to buying a whole new starter. I would love to do it myself but i'm mechanically limited and would prefer paying someone to do it(favoring a person who has done it before) while i looked on to learn for myself. They say it takes like an hour to do, so if anyone in the NYC area who can help me out, please reply or e-mail me. I will purchase all necessary lubricants and/or cleaning material as well as pay the person for labor. We can discuss price when i have recieved a reply to this thread. Thanx.

I recently changed my starter and disassembled the old one. One of my magnets had broken loose and was ground up into tiny bits inside -- ultimately it jammed the starter of course. Are you sure this is not your problem?
