Stillin Intake Braket with Midpipe?

I have a Stillin Intake on my Franken Car midpipe. The Filter pretty much sits on the wheel well. Anyone suggest putting the Bracket on to hold it up, someone was tellin me it might not be good because of the engine moving with the Midpipe the bracket might possibly pull the midpipe off or something, anyone have a set up like this? Thanx

Nick

I don't have your exact set up but i just used zip ties to keep the filter from resting on the wheel well.

My PR midpipe couplers are pretty stiff and doesnt allow the midpipe to flex much. Adding the stillen bracket will bolt the midpipe down to the fender which will not allow the midpipe to flex as the engine rocks back and fourth so stress will be put on the midpipe couplers. I know its safe for stock midpipes since they have the super flexable accordian coupler on it. I dont use the bracket because my midpipe couplers are strong enough to hold the stillen intake up a half inch above the fender so the whole intake is suspended in the air.

I think that there is one extra breather nipple on the 95-96 version.

My PR/ Cattman couplers sucked- they were always sagging (until I removed it altogether). I was using rubber between the end of the filter and the fenderwell to avoid the annoying sound as the filter rattled against the fender. I would go w/ the ziptie idea if I was goign to keep a hybrid setup. I just decided it was too loud all around, so I ditched it for a K&N panel filter...

Just put the bottom 1/2 of the air box back in... works like a charm.

Thanx guys. Well I might just put some sort of Rubber there like that guy said so the metal part of the cone dont touch the wheel well. The only time I get the vibrating noise is when Im in reverse, but its no biggie at all realy. So yeah, Ill put something therer so its not vibrating on that, just wanted to know if anyones actually done it. But The side of the Stillen cone kinda touches the wire to the batter, the red wired. So Im gonna have to like push the battery up some more or something, Havent figured out what I wanna do yet. And to this guy that I replyed to his post. Your not the only Max that hit 130 I hit that a couple days ago, after installing the Y pipe. Man I couldnt belive I went that fast, it was 2am in the morning and no one was around. 130 = FLYING. I couldnt go no more then that, I wouldve needed longer road, and ***** the size of my brain

Thanx guys

Nick
