I got a Max yesterday!

Yesterday I bought a 96 Max GLE! It's auto, pearl white, and only has 100,000 kms (~60mi) on it. I got it for $13,000 Cdn (~$8,500 USd).
I'm really enjoying it and I have you guys to thank. I was looking at getting a 240SX, but in my neck of the woods they go for the same price as the Max. Your posts and conversations, as well as your depth of knowledge and evangelism for the Max, have convinced me to join your ranks.
I look forward to a rewarding relationship with the forums.
Cheers,
Matt

congrats on the new car purchase and welcome to the Max community. Back in 95 when I got my SE I debated getting a 240. They're nice cars for sure. You should be very happy w/ the max. Just make sure to keep the oil changed regularly and it should last a while. Good luck w/ it.

Re: I got a Max yesterday!

Nice car, what part of Canada did you get it from? I was lookin through autotrader.ca, and they had a 97 GLE with 13,600km (8,450 miles) for only $12000cdn (7800 US)!

My friend has a 1996 240 and we were comparing to see who was faster...
the max hands down, the ka24 sucks and its on a nissan sports car too..
the 240 however, have the option to swap to a sr20deT
but like dude said, they can go for the price of a max and the sr20 are not cheap and im not sure but i think its illegal too because of emissions, correct me if im wrong.

Congrats on your max WhiskeyJack

I'm in Toronto and have both a 95 240SX and a 99 Maxima.

Maxima is faster but the 240SX is way more fun to drive. Both are loaded with the 240SX being 5-spd and the Maxima being auto.

I always prefer driving the 240SX to the Maxima.

Yeah, but for under 10K (TOTAL) you could be SCed and blow most everyone else on the board away. Where did you find a car for that much (or that little, actually)?

WhiskeyJack-
Nice purchase!

SCed is SuperCharged.

Just because it was owned by a kid does not mean abused, but I would do a FULL 60K tuneup on it if I were you. I saw your other thread, and posted there. You can PM me or post in your other thread if you have any other questions.
