how to change fuel filter

Nissan fuel filter's cheap, like $9. For those who have 5sp and ABS...you're gonna have a harder time changing the filter, but it's possible.
Get under the steering wheel and pull the fuel pump fuse. Then try to start the car 3x. That will relieve most of the fuel line pressure.

Standing at the front driver side tire, look for the brake fluid reservoir. Then follow the firewall and move away from you (towards center of car). You'll come across a canister that looks like 1/2 the height of a Coke Cola aluminum can. Place shop rags beneath the canister to catch any fuel you might spill. Get a short stubby philips/cross screwdriver and loosen the top clamp. Then take a flat screwdriver and wedge it between the hose and canister and work the hose off. It'll take a lotta of force so just yank like crazy (don't worry, the hose won't break). Be careful not to lose the clamp and not to get the squirting fuel all over the engine bay.

Now for the bottom, take the canister off it's mount and rotate it till you can see the bottom clamp. Remove it w/the philip/cross screwdriver. Then pull the filter off (remember to catch the squirting fuel...it's a lot!) and don't lose the clamp.

Before putting in the new filter, lube up the nipple w/light grease. This will help slip on the hoses and slip off the hoses after 60,000 miles. Before attaching the lower hose, figure out how to orient the clamp so it's easiest to access. Attach the lower hose, tighten the clamp to 8.7 to 13.0 lb/ft. do the same for the upper hose/clamp. Re-install the fuel pump fuse and start the car. You're all done!

i think this is already stickied in the frequently asked questions, if not this write up should be...i just changed my fuel filter last week...with ABS its a BEOTCH
