I have read that 95-97 Maximas had some manufacturing defect with the transmission.. Will 96 I30 5speed tranny with VLSD have the same issue? How much should i expect to pay for a I30 VLSD tranny with 70K miles?

I am looking at all the reasons for my leaking driver side axle seal :-(

My drive axel seal has been replaced twice and is leaking again. If that helps any.

Currently 94K. I did not own the car when it first started leaking. Looking at the repair records it looks like it started happening around 60K miles. The whole point is that a continously leaking drive-axel seal is a sign of bad bearings. The tranny seems to be working fine now, but I think the bearings will have to be replaced in the future.
