I AM GETTING A 95 MAX ON THURSDAY BUT THE ONE THING THAT ****ES ME OFF ARE THOSE TAIL LIGHTS...WHERE CAN I GET RED/CLEAR TAILS FOR IT? OR IF NOT IS ANYONE SELLING THEIRS?? OR I HEARD OF PEOPLE USING THE CLEARED OUT ONES AND PAINTING HALF OF THEM RED, BUT WHERE CAN I FIND THE ALL CLEAR ONES..NOTHING ON EBAY OR CUSTOMMAXIMA...IF ANYONE WOULD HELP IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..THANXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

2) just a recomendation, use a search feature, it has great threads about this subject, which has been talked about only 50 billion times

3) unless you find them for sale on this forum I doubt you will find anyone selling them. they were discontinued a long time ago and unfortunatly you are out of luck

Wow. Don't use CAPS like that.

You'll have to hold your breathe with the 95-96 red/clears. Custommaxima is supposedly in the process of manufacturing them, but it could be a while. Nice Red/clears are probably one of the hardest things to find; an easy, DIY alternative would be the red-out.
Read the whole thread and you'll know where to get the paint or the tape, whichever you choose. I recommend the tape.

 

if you wait for custommaxima.....well just dont hold ur breath

 

go to your local infiniti place and ask for I30 lights from the same year

 

If that worked, we would all be doing it...

I woudl suggest trolling the forsale board and ebay...that is abotu your only hope of finding red/clears or all clears (to paint).

 

I'll be at up at custom maxima on monday...I'll talk to Greg/Steve and see what the deal is for you poor 95-96's

 

And then what would he do with them? Sell them on Ebay?

Sorry, but I30 tails don't go on a Maxima without bodywork.

 

also, if you're searching around the internet and you come across NOPI with the 95-96 all clears. They don't exist so don't waste your time

 

Yeah, us w 95/6 are SOL- plus custommaxima says Jan or something - which means like Jan 2007- we shall see

 

 

I am sure there is a way to di it but it would be difficult and take time. Lots of time.
You have to get the light cover from home depot or something. Put it in the oven for a couple of minute so it softens. then put it over the tail light and hold it there until it hardens. Then cut off the edges you don't need. The hard part is getting all the orange off of the red. Once you do that get some super glue to glue the clear peice you made to the red and the rest of the assembly and then you have your red/clear tails for a 95/96 maxima.

Paonessa, I ran a GD end of last year and got 20+ sets (one for me of course). They were made by DavidL.

No on the 97-99 you place the peice inside the taillight.
What I'm saying is that you actually break the orange off of the red and glue on the peice. This requires a lot more work than the 97-99 because you just push it in the 97-99. The 95/96 95/96 actually requires that you replace the orange mold with your own mold. If I can ever get an extra tail light to practice on i'll let you know about it.

 

you could get a budget y pipe for less than $175. did you get 20 hp from those tail lights? i hate the yellow blinker but not $175 bucks worth of hate. i'll hold off for now

 

I love them, classy without the trashy. I especially like driving by Max's that are not down with the Org and watch them check out my @ss. When I go to the mall or something I park right next to max's with those nasty Amber tails

 

I spent $175, but right now I could sell them anywhere from $175 to $200+, it's acually an investment.
They don't give me 20hp, but then again you can't see 20hp while you're parked.

 

yeah i agree, i wanna see kids faces with a max when they loook at my tails(if i ever get them )...

today this brotha was pulling in at the lot in a 95/96. rims, d/c, tint.. and a gap.. was cheking out my red clear *** like a horny bisnatch..

 

hope your not auto....if so, boost in your future? aint no way you puttin 3 cars on a CL-S without boost on an auto.....all the bolt ons for a 5spd to put 3 cars id say...


also, im heading up to Custom Maxima on Monday to test fit their strut bar, so I'll be asking Steve personally about the red/clears for you poor, poor souls


ps. i love the look on peoples faces when they see the red/clears....It's like dude, whered u get em.

 

definitely whippin a 5-speed. no immediate plans for forced induction either.
Three cars was a bit much but those Cl's aren't that fast. My friend has that trip tronic nonsense. they weigh a 1/4 ton more than a 4th gen max
