Engine Squeeling. please help

I just pulled my starter, cleaned and regreased it. I also cleaned the throttle body while I was at it. I cleaned up the engine bay by wiping it down with a damp sponge. Now I put it all together, and I'm getting a terrible squeeling. I hope it's just a wet belt. Could I have screwed anything up? Maybe I overgreased the starter? Please help.

Definately your belts. I think it should be fine after a while.

well, it wasn't the belts. I prayed and God told me to take everything I did apart. I did and when I put it back together, it took care of the problem. wet belts would have stopped squeaking after running for a while cause it would have dried. I drove to the o'reilly, and back and it never got better. It was an ugly sound. like metal on metal and it would go along with the cycle of the engine. Thanks Nadir for replying.

I had a somewhat similar problem, mine was just on the initial start up when the car would sit. My friend just simply tightened the alternator belt, and that solved it.....

good that you solved your situation though
