Adding Electronic Oil Presure Gauge

I have just become the proud owner of a 99 max SE 5sp car. It is a great auto, the only thing Missing is a OP gauge. I was surving the installation, I noticed that the Axle shaft Is very close to the location of the exisitng OP switch. WOuld like to use an Electronic gauge which have a much larger switch, this would most likely interfere with the axle. Looking for advice on this. So far my only compaint about the car is lack of gauges. My 87 max wagon had them????? Merry Christmas to all. Mike

Run a stainless steel braided line up to top part of the engine bay. There you will have plenty of room to mount the large oil pressure sender. Check out my pics.

Checked out the pics, very fancy job. What is the tap in the big radiator hose for? I say you have tranny temp with the temp manifold and a ss line from the oil pan, but i have never seen the other one.

It's for the water temp gauge.

Oh i see. Isn't that what the gauge in the maxima already shows or is that coolant temp?

yeah..there is a OEM gauge but it's always in the middle. The water temp difference could be as much as 30 F. It's just more accurate with an aftermarket gauge.

Oh, i was never thinking of getting one because i thought the one in the car was good enough. So does the guage change actual readings while your driving?

Yes...you can see the temp go up when you are stuck in traffic. I can also tell when the cooling fan is about to turn on by the ECU.
