Ordered Frankencar, few questions...

I just ordered a Frankencar intake with the K&N. I was wondering if it is okay to keep the intake on while getting routine service at the dealership. Will it cause any hassle or anything while just getting routine maintenance? This is still officially my Dad's car thats why it goes to the dealership for service (he's a dealership guy ) Thanks

I would take it off just to be safe... they might pull the "You altered your car, bye bye warranty ****" or something like that. Damn **** *** dealers.

I would say that is highly doubtful, its just an intake, it's not like you have changed engine components, i did the same thing, it is a minor alteration and I would take it to the dealership alot to get maintenance. If they give you ****, tell them don't look for you to ever buy another nissan from then.....i guarentee then they will change their tune

Your waranty is only void if they can prove that the problem was caused by your mod. My warranty isn't even through Nissan. Nissan sold me the extended warranty but the company writes me a big fatty check for however much Nissan says the problem is.

I'm doubting you still have a warranty. If you do, they still can't refuse to service/repait your car unless they can prove your aftermarket part is the source of a problem. That is THE LAW - it is not the dealership's choice.

Anyways, most dealerships don't mind. They see many custom cars, and a simple intake is no big deal. I've never had anything but compliments form my Nissan mechanics.

Yeah I don't think that I even have the warranty anymore, its a 97 and I don't think I have an extended one. Thanks for all the responses.
