red/clear fitment issue

ok i got my R/C's from custommaxima right?.. the install went smooth.. after i got done and closed the trunk lid, i noticed that the new R/C's are slightly higher than the stock lenses on the trunk lid... you really have to come up close and look in angles to see the diff... but i know it's there, and it bugs me. i tried pushing them in and tightening a bit more.. they sunk in a bit more but they are still a bit out of whack.
Now, my friend says that because i did it in the cold, the silicone didn't melt good enough and it is preventing the flush. to wait till hot summer days to have the silicone melt good and push it a bit then...
any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Ed.

yes, your friends right, you should wait till summer so the silicon melts and it'll settle in better. I did my lights at home and i have a gap bewteen the body of the car the lights and its because i didn't heat it up right, so my guess would be to wait till summer, but i'm not 100% sure, hope that helps

after you install the clear plastic in the lenses your suppose to reheat the lights as if your taking them apart and recompress them. Thats why they are out of wack. I fixed a members lights that were out of alignment like you just posted all they need was to be reheated and that was it.

are the lens and the black plastic close together? is the lens sealed all the way around? if not you will have this fitment issue..

they should be brand new lens so you shouldn't have a fitment issue of it going in the body...
