had car repair work, now remote control locks dont work

I had the starter replaced on my maxima, but now the remote controller buttons do not lock, unlock or open the trunk. Itis definitly not the battery, and i know the security system in the car is working because the red security light on the dashboard is still blinking. Is it possible that someting was messed up during the repair work done by the mechanic??? Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I think you need to reprogram your remotes. Use search to find procedure.

the same exact thing happened to me. after i changed my starter the clicker crapped out on me. i changed the clickers batterys, then i bought a new clicker and i decided to just let it go for a few weeks. i had gotten used to just using the key and forgot i ever had a remote. one random day i bought a new car battery and it just started working for me on the spot.

my car did this recently-matter of a fact, after i cleaned my tb. all i did was to unhook my car battery, leave it unhooked for a few minutes and then hook it back up-prob solved.

Thanks so much for your help, i just printed up the instructions and reprogrammed the remote keys. It prob got unprogrammed when the mechanic removed the batery to do his work. Whatever it was, im just so glad i dont have to do the manual key thing anymore, boy i must be really spoiled!!!!
