hey guys as all u know i got the differential bearing problem. i went to my friends friend that works in a trans shop and he told me the whinding noise im getting in 1st & revrse its not the bearings. i thought it was? what could it be?? but i do have a driver side leaking axle seal. then he told me if their metal shaving it can mess other stuff up too. he also said that hes not going to look at anything esle just doing the bearings. i asked him if he needed shims and he told me hes going to use the old ones. what size shim should i get or how many?? hes only charging me $100 to install the bearing tho. (im gonna pull out the trans) but i want it done right. putting my clutch in too and redline gear oil MT-90 in also. and a rear main seal. and his going to install the axles seals Left and right. what should i do about the shims???

and do i have a big and small differential bearing?? or is it big & big, or small & small?? i have a open diff. ???

I suggest you borrow or buy a FSM. There are shim specs and part number in the FSM. If you don't do this right, it will just come back later on.

Factory service manual. Check your owner's manual. There is a number you can call to order one. You can get it from any Nissan dealership too.
