Quick Headlight Question?

I purchased 2sets of xenon Street glow bulbs size 9004 & H3.
They were only $6 bucks a pair so for 12 bucks I said how bad could they be.
The plan was to install them today but after doing some searching on the matter I found some posts about the bulbs melting the harness. The bulbs say, 9004=80/100watts, & H3=55watts. You guys think they might melt the plugs, if so how about if I just use the H3 fog bulbs and leave my head light how they are now. I really don’t want to buy the $40 harness to convert the watts, for 6$ bulb. I have had these in my 93 explorer for years now with no problem. What do you think??
Thanks in advance,
Chuck

I personally wouldn't run anythin much over the stock bulb without upgrading the harness. You can get the harness on Ebay for like 26 bucks. D@mn you only spent 12 bucks on bulbs. Suck it up and buy the harness!

the h3's should be fine, as long as they dont run too hot. I made the mistake of putting 80 or 100 watt Naxos bulbs in the foglights, and pretty soon one of them cracked from the heat .

also, I had 80/100 watt bulbs in the headlights for about 6 months, and they were fine, the reason I don't have them anymore is my whole front end was replaced after an accident. But other people have had melted harnesses, so i dunno.

I have run 80/100 9004 bulbs for a few years now using the stock harness. No melting here...
