size of filter DOES make a difference!

i recently had the K&N filter that came with a PR CAI intake and just bought a stillen filter from Mr.Nismo on org and there is definitely a difference in power between these two filters. The power difference in low end is SERIOUS, i had all day to examine the difference and I would definitely RECOMMEND GETTING A FILTER WITH A BIG DIAMATER, like the stillen or the JWT. Although either filter will be a big difference from stock, i'm pleased with the stillen.

The only thing i couldn't understand was how to put the shield on. I only seen one way possible for shield to fit so filter would fit as well but where the screw was would have punctured the tire because it ran through the body of the car...

This is how the shield looks. I drove the whole day without it and didn't have a problem with knocking or anything. There's a good 1/8 inch between filter and the car and i don't think it will make a difference if i put this shield on (5 dollars wasted ) but if any of u have it on, would u mind telling me exactly how u put this on?

Was the popcharger filter a LOT cleaner than the old CAI filter?

Looks waaaaaay better. I'm sure anything other than stock will be a HUGE increase. I have somewhat of the same filter that you have, I would preferably have the one you have on now just cause it looks cleaner and better. Oh yeah and the increase of power too.

you put the bottom part (with one screw hole) through the hole in the body of the car where the stock airbox used to be.
use the other two screw holes on the lower screws of the velocity stack.
its just to support the filter.
this is an extremely easy installation, you shouldn't have a problem.
good luck

I personally dont use the bracket on my PR/stillen hybrid because I feel that it will damage the rubber couplers over time. The reason is because that bracket was ment for the stillen intake with STOCK midpipe which you know has a super flexable accordian section that will move when the engine rocks. Now, with your midpipe bolted down to the fender with that bracket, there is minimal movement so that means if you added that bracket on, it will not allow the intake to move along when the engine rocks so it is now putting stress on the rubber couplers and causes them to try to flex. Over time it may do damage and possibly tear the couplers and your intake is now dangling in your engine bay sucking in unfiltered air.

I had a Reactive Heat shield filter, which was the worst 50 bucks I ever spent. I didn’t feel a difference over stock, all I noticed is the sound increase. I took the filter apart, and found out that the filter was really tiny, and was chocking my engine. Then I bought a Stillen pop charger and installed it. The gains were noticeable right away on the Stillen intake. Now I can easily spin first gear. It really helped my power in the mid range, and high end. So I have to agree with Mecca, filter size does matter.
