PICS: Flip Flop Trunk mod with Type 2 wing

I think im the first 4th gen to ever have a Type II wing with flip flop trunk mod here

Anyways, I took some pics the other night at work cause i was bored. And dont mind the condition of my car, it had just snowed over 6inches that day and i wasnt gonna wash my car in 20 degree weather. As of now i have to unbolt the deck lid(x4 10mm bolts) in order for the mod to work, but iam working on a faster way to flop the trunk as we speak.

Flip Flop #3:

the single 12" Rockford is just a temp solution to fulfill my need for bass until i pick up my new subs and amp. Pics will be posted in late January of my new setup when its complete.

looks tight .. what type of hinges did you use

also, how much of a PITA is it to put 6*9's in the rear?

Ive done my home made flip-flop trunk a little while ago and just have a few questions. Does your latch rest against the rubber sealing of the trunk because mine does, I dont think there is anything wrong with it sitting like that, Im just curious. Also I want to eventually find a way to use some kind of hood shocks to make a way that when I pop my trunk it will automatically flip flop. Ever think about that? I would like to get some input from you if you have any or anyone else for that matter.

when its unbolted i have it rest on the rubber just below the rear window. I posted one pic of the lid propped level, but i like the other way better. As far as using hood shocks, id rather not waste my time desigining something like when i only "flop flop" the lid for car shows.

yep, trunk pop still works. The trunk will only "flip flop" when i remove the 2 bolts holding it in the stock position.

Yes but quite a ghetto one... his looks far more sophisticated and sleek. The other one used fencing stuff and his sits "stright" and all whatnot.

Does the flip flop trunk mod make your trunk rattle more than it did before when your system hits. I'd like to do it but I have four 12's and I dont know if it would work out due to too much rattle

The trunk does rattle more. I was pushing 1,350 RMS in bass and the **** rattled like a ****. Mainly it was the deadbolts that rattled, I used a rubber hose to cut down the rattling.

Read my write-up I explained everything.
