Re: JWT cams??????

of course they give real power.....a lot of it too. Cams are like the brain of the engine. Personally I don't think it's worth the money for a maxima.

Where did you get 20hp from?? I wont say they are worth it till there are some proven results. Not just the price, you have to think about install too...what a pita..and then what about a ecu to take advantage of these new cams. I just dont see it yet.

If they give a lot of power, then why wouldn't they be worth it? A good catback exhuast cost like half the price of cams, and adds maybe 5 hp. Aftermarket cams would probably yield over 20hp, and would really show the potential of the VQ.
Look at the race version of the 350z, and see how much power a NA VQ35 can make.
The cams definitely make more power, but they kill the low end below 3000. JWT says the cams are mild, but they're not exactly. They do make the car pull hard to redline though. It's like having a VI without actually having a VI.

but Andy, consider the cams are like $1200 and install can be between $600 - $800 more...

that is $2000 and you gained 1 HP per $20...

there are more productive mods that are less down-time-intensive and produce better modifiable results...is modifiable a word?
