Good Radar Detector?

I'm looking to buy a radar detector.. I heard the valentine one is the best but it's out of my price range at $400.. anyone know a good one for less? I'm going on a road trip from NY to FL soon and it would definitely help

yup. V1 is it.
http://www.valentine1.com/
right at $400 too.

and you can hide the main unit some where inconspicuous and use the $40 remote display.

note: it is a dead giveaway to police that you speed if you have a radar detector, so if you get one, its not a bad idea to hide it.

The Valentine 1 is the best, but for $100 less you can get the second best, Escort 8500
