Best deal on brakes

Here is the deal. I’m at 67K on stock brakes and its time to replace them. I want to go with a performance upgrade. However, big brakes are probably out of the question since I have to use the stock 16’s during the winter. So far, the best deal I have found is 4 slotted/drilled rotors with PBR/Axxis Metalmaster pads and SS lines for $360 + shipping from raceconcepts.com. So here are my questions.

1. Is there a better deal that I should look into?
2. There is a kit out now that lets you use 12.2 inch rotors up front with the stock calipers for around $400. Will that squeeze in under the 16’s?

I need to replace all 4 braking systems (front & back) and I’m willing to spend between $350 and $500, possibly a little more if I could use that 12.2 kit up front. Yes, I tried searching and I wasn’t able to come up with anything conclusive. Thanks in advance for your opinions and thoughts.

Re: Best deal on brakes

The bigger 12.2" rotors may fit, but what's the point? You will have a bigger stopping area, but with the same stopping force. The rotors may last longer because heat can dispurse more throughout, but your braking force will remain puny (no offense). I would recommend the slotted/drilled combo for $360, it seems like a good price and you really aren't going to achieve much better braking without a bigger caliper to brake with.

Good luck.
