95-96 headlight idea.....

Has anyone tried removing the glass lens from the housing and polishing the glass to be extra clear? I just wonder if with the right polishing if we could get them to be as clear as the 97+ plastic lenses

The lights are very differnt designs. You would not want to polish the glass smooth on the 95 style lights.

On the 95 lights, both the reflector and the lens direct the light.

On the 97 lights, the only the reflector directs the light.

It would end up being easier to just switch to the 97 lights than to try to polish the glass.

Killjoy......
I knew that the lens of the 95 directed the light, I just didnt know that polishing it would loose that ability. PLus it would be ALOT cheaper to polish glass than to blow $180 or so on new headlights... LOL

You could polish the outside of the lens. That might help.
