This can't be true!!! Engine question...Everyone read.
I heard that if i wanted to clean out my old engine oil i can get an oil change and put back in about 3-4 QTs of oil and 1 QT tranny fluid and let the engine run for about 15 to 20 mins and then drain everything back out and use my regular Synthetic oil.
I heard this from a mechanic.... This can't be true, Can it cause i'm in need of an engine flush bad.....
Trance!!!

Why the flush? Were you looking to switch from conventional to synthetic or were you looking to just clean things up a bit?

Any good full synthetic like Mobil 1 tends to be quite aggressive at cleaning stuff up eventually anyway with enough oil changes....
Just drain old and add new....

I've heard this as well.
It's usually people who own older Ford or Chevy trucks. They said whenever the lifters start knocking to do this at the next oil change and it clears it up. I don't think it would help our engiines though.

Don't flush.......
There is no reason to flush a perfectly good engine. I agree with RMB. All you will do is take the chance of increasing oil usage. Just my 2 cents based on experience.
