use a flat head screw driver and pry the tube while u pull on it.
if that doesn't help, use a hair dryer and heat up the tube a bit then try to pry it.

good luck.
btw, do u have ABS?

Works best if you pull and twist back and forth at the same time. More force on the twisting than the pulling until you feel it break loose.

Make sure the clamp is completely loose and you can slide it down the hose.

Good luck.

Well the same thing happened to me. I tried every thing there is to be tried to pull it off and nothing worked. I finally just gave up and took it to a mechanic. When I got it back he told me that he couldn't even get it off and so he just cut the tubes and put on new ones.

MM. Vice _ Grip the hose near the nipple of the filter.
dont be afraid to throw **** when you get mad, just dont kick the metal on the car, the front bumper is forgiving.

What does having or not having ABS have to do with changing fuel filter?

Forget the hair dryer. Use a torch!

Yes, a pair of pliers to "turn" the hose on the fitting. Once you get it "broken loose" by turning it should come off easily.
Tip, when removing the fuel filter take out the air cleaner box and the housing around the throttle/MAV (I think that's what it is). This allows you greater access to the fuel filter.
Cheers

seems to be much easier to get to and change the filter without all the abs grabage in the way. thats prob why the question was asked

Re: Feul Filter Help!!!

I just did it. I have multiple scratches on my hands and forearms to show for it! What I did was remove the filter from the bracket and unscrew both clamps on the top and bottom of the filter. Then use one hand to hold the filter and the other to hold the top hose. Twist and pull, twist and pull. Top came off and spilled a good amount of fuel! =( Twist and pull, twist and pull the bottom. LOTS of fuel comes out when you take the bottom off!!! Plug up the bottom of the filter with your finger FAST!!! There is a lot of gas in there! Be careful where you put that filter! Empty the gas out in to a container or something. Replace filter with new one. Put everything back. Wash your hands and arms and examine cuts. Take for a test drive.

if you cut the hose at the very end of the filter you will still have enough play to put on a new one without getting new hoses

Exactly what I was going to say, to a "T". Use a flathead and blowdryer.

It is tough, but it is doable. You'll get it.
